How to get your own iPad and Kindle in 2017
You’ve got an iPad or Kindle lying around.
It might be nice to have them on hand.

But, when you want to start making purchases, you’ll want to be sure to grab your device from your local retailer and get it to your door.

To make the transition, all you need is an iPad with a newer version of iOS than iOS 7.1 or higher.
Here’s how to activate your device: Turn off your device and connect to your Mac.
On the Home screen, tap the Settings icon and then tap About device.
This will bring up the About this device screen.
Scroll down and tap Device information.
From here, tap Apple devices.
You’ll see a list of devices in your Apple ID.
On this screen, click your iPad or Apple device.
On your Mac, click the Settings button at the bottom of the screen.
This opens up the Device info screen.
Under Device information, tap Settings.
Under iCloud, scroll down to the bottom.
Scroll to the next screen and tap Apple IDs.
From the list, tap your iPad and tap your Apple IDs, or select your Apple id from the dropdown menu.
Click Activate your device.
After you’ve activated your device, you can use it in iOS 10, which is coming in June.
If you’re in the United States, you have to buy an iPhone to get a compatible device.
