What you need to know about Adobe ebook subscription and digital rights management services
A reader with a digital subscription, including one from Adobe, can access books from many popular publishers and online stores.
It’s not necessary to own a digital rights manager or digital library subscription in order to use the service.
What you do need to do is sign up to receive an email with a link to your Adobe account.
If you already have a digital license, you’ll be prompted to purchase the new license when you sign up.
A subscription is an additional payment for Adobe products and services.
If your current license expires, you can renew it at any time by going to Adobe’s website and clicking on the subscription renewal link.

A digital license is a separate subscription from a digital library.
To sign up for a digital licenses, click on the license icon in the lower right corner of Adobe’s web page.
The next screen asks if you want to purchase a subscription.
Select the license you want, then click on “Activate subscription” to activate it.
Your subscription will then be available to read from for free.
If there’s no subscription option, you must purchase a license at Adobe’s retail store, or download an Adobe app for Windows or Mac, or the app can be purchased separately from Adobe’s app store.
